The popular AND1 3x3 Streetball Challenge, in its 11th edition, has seen all 220 slots snapped up weeks ahead of the tournament by eager basketball fans.
While the main 3x3 tourney has always been an attraction for serious basketballers to pit their skills against other teams in the competition, it has also been a ground for discovering new streetballers.

Past winner of the “In Search of Streetballer” challenge Scalia Nethanial and current AND1 ambassador Teng Seng Fu were on hand to show 40 basketball fans what streetball was about during a freestyle coaching clinic.
Teng and Scalia took turns to showcase their individual skills before sharing tips with the attendees outside Hoop Station at the Lot 10 Shopping Centre, Kuala Lumpur.
According to the organisers, the series of coaching clinics held throughout Malaysia since early May has benefited young basketball players around the country.
“AND1 participants will benefit from the coaching clinic with experienced basketball players sharing some tips and skills of the games.” said Nestle sports marketingmanager Ng Ping Loong.
Ng added that the clinics were also a good platform for youth to socialise and meet like-minded people in an out-of-school environment.
Participants at this year’s AND1 3x3 Streetball Challenge can also take part in the Slam Dunk and Best Shooter contest which will be held throughout the day and stand a chance to win a trophy and hampers.
The “In Search of Streetballer” included for the occasion will see the top streetballers from the previous four legs dazzle the crowd with their flashy moves in a grand final.
The winner of the category will stand a chance to become an ambassador for the AND1 3x3 Streetball Challenge in a contract worth RM3,000.
The AND1 Streetball Challenge is an event sanctioned by the Malaysian Basketball Association.
StarMetro is the official media partner of the tournament, Milo the official beverage sponsor, One FM the official radio and Spalding as the official ball partner.
